Yahushua said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Yahushua is the benefactor of the “eternal promises” that were given to Abraham Gen. 12:1-3. He is the way the promise that was made mention to Abraham by Yahweh about being a great nation. We know that Abraham did not become a great nation, yet, but by his faithfulness he persevered to do as he was commanded by Yahweh. He wasn’t perfect, as no man on earth is, he was called away from his ‘comfort’ zone, the land that he had know for all his life up until that point. Did he know who it was that was speaking this to him? I am quite certain that he did, he came from a place that was very literate which also worshipped many idols. His native land is Haran from the tribe of Shem, Ur of Kasidim or as we know it Ur of Chaldeas was founded by Ham. Abraham by faith left what he knew and followed Yahweh.
Abraham was following the verbal agreement, for the written had yet to come, and by this we know that he walked in “faith.” Abraham in turn passed it off to Issac as an “oath” and was finally confirmed in a “statue” by the time of Jacob, being as Moses had by this time delivered the Torah/Law from on top of Mt. Sinai. We must understand that if we are all called by grace to the way which we know that Yahushua is the “way” then we are held by the same set of statues, commandments that was received by Moses on that day. Yahushua himself said many of times that we must follow the commandments of Yahweh. When we look at grace we must understand that Yahushua was the only one who could fulfill the requirements of both the Covenant of Promises and the Torah/Law, no man can or ever has. So by his (Yahushua) completion on the execution stake he was able to fulfill all that was required by both “covenant and commandments.” So as well it is by the power of His grace that it is extended to those whom He believes is deserving, yet our actions are still judged by how we follow the commands that Yahweh has already commanded. There is nothing new or added they are the same as they have always been, just as Yahweh is the same yesterday, today, and in the future. It is by our selfish acts that we expect change, but that change should come from within us to see our faults and repent for our wrongs so we can receive the forgiveness from Yahweh.
The world has said that we need not abide in the laws set down from above, we follow after man made rituals that are but vapor and not full filling in the end. We have read in Torah how in the book of Kings they didn’t follow the precepts of Yahweh, that they chased after other gods as in Isa. 1:21. To long has this generation transgress the Law of Yahweh, yet in our defense, we claim that it doesn’t apply. Yet in all reality we are to comfortable in our set ways knowing that we are under this type of grace which somehow states that we no longer have to abide in the “ways and truth.” Yahushua said, ” If you love Me, then follow My commandments.” John 14:15 In John 15:10 “when you obey My commandments, you remain in My love, just as I obeyed My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.”
The word commandments is written over 32 times in the NT and it isn’t just there for filler. In Mat.15:9 “They worship me in vain, their teaching of doctrines the commandments of men.” Yahushua was quoting from Isaiah(Isa. 29:13) to the men in the temple who were given the so called laws not of Yahweh but of their own understandings. We must walk as Yahushua did (1 John 2:3-5) and remembering that he took the ordinances of man, the parts of the Law the were introduced by man’s understanding, and nailed them to the executioners stake/cross. Yahushua didn’t come to earth from heaven with a new set of Laws, he lived through the laws to show us the way and in turn he is the life in the eternal. Yet we cannot expect to receive this gift of grace through the understandings of the doctrines of man; i.e; pagan festivals, confession of sin to father figures, pagan rituals, traditions such as those by man, etc…
1 John 3:4- “whosoever commit a sin transgress’ the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”
Paul wrote in Gal. 1:10; 10For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Some will say that we are against each other yet it is not man who we please, to give in love through action being lead by the Spirit of truth Ruach ha Kodesh that the messiah Yahushua left us to bare witness to what? the TRUTH. plain and simple, really no fooling around, dead serious. The truth is hard for some to swallow yet it is walking in the light of Yahushua. He walked the law in the way and integrity that we all should. He gave where it was needed, he healed in times of sickness, he taught continuously, he was the epitomy of us all. Yahushua is the one and only one who we can conform to, not Peter, Paul, Mary, Mark, or John. He told Peter on the shore after they had eaten, John 21:15-17:
15When they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these [others do--with reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion, as one loves the Father]? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You [that I have deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. He said to him, Feed My lambs.
16Again He said to him the second time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me [with reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion, as one loves the Father]? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You [that I have a deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. He said to him, Shepherd (tend) My sheep.
17He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me [with a deep, instinctive, personal affection for Me, as for a close friend]? Peter was grieved (was saddened and hurt) that He should ask him the third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know everything; You know that I love You [that I have a deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.
Yahshua is the way, the truth, and the life and he turns to Peter/Kepha ( in Hebrew meaning the “rock” ) and asked him to feed His lambs, the new born believers. Then He says to shepherd/tend to My sheep, the ones who are following Yahushua. He then said feed My sheep, through the words that were already spoken. We are never suppose to take up doctrines or ideas that do not line up with the Word. Misinterpretation of Scripture is a bad habit to have, and when we use it whether it be Paul’s writings or Peter’s. Just remember Peters warning about Paul’s epistles 2 Peter 3:16-17; 16Speaking of this as he does in all of his letters. There are some things in those [epistles of Paul] that are difficult to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist and misconstrue to their own [a]utter destruction, just as [they distort and misinterpret] the rest of the Scriptures.
17Let me warn you therefore, beloved, that knowing these things beforehand, you should be on your guard, lest you be carried away by the error of lawless and wicked [persons and] fall from your own [present] firm condition [your own steadfastness of mind].
So let us strive for that which is good and true, to be counted worthy to finish what must be done, lift up those who are in need, treat everyone as we would like to be treated, as well as our own brothers and sisters, and finish this race with our head held high knowing that we did what we were called to do. Believe, Achieve, Receive, when we believe the Messiah walked in the way of truth, we achieve the grace in action of faith, and receive the blessings of eternal life. If we keep our minds clean, then our hearts can remain pure, which allows the essence of pureness to flow through our soul, and allow the spirit with in us to be taught by the Ruach ha Kodesh, which remember bares witness with our spirit to understand truth.
